I'm having a really shitty day, but I am so amused with myself right now.
BabyGirl was sleeping in my lap, and I got up to take the Q-Tips from Big Sister (seriously, where does she find this shit???). Saw the sheet on the floor, so I picked it up, and made a carrier out of it. BabyGirl is sleeping soundly against me, and I am not supporting her. Yay me!
Isn't there a guide to making a carrier out of a sheet somewhere online?

Is it okay to give a 12 month old Benadryl and Motrin at the same time? I sure hope so because I just did so without thinking. Kid is teething 3 of the front molars hence the Motrin plus he was having an especially allergic day so I gave him Benadryl 15 minutes later. He is now asleep early because he missed his afternoon nap.

my daughter is 12. she has been asking and asking to get a myspace acct. to which ive denied her requests, many times.
she is now on vacation in new jersey visiting her grandmother (my ex's mom). this means she is left at her great aunts house for babysitting. she has two teenage boys.
in the last two weeks i have learned that last visit, the boys played grand theft auto with her...
and now i just happened to check her dad's myspace acct. to find a comment from her!
i went to her profile and its set to private, but also states that she's 15 years old. i think this is because myspace does not allow profiles for people less than 15 years old...
anyways, im at a loss for what to do. obviously the other adults in her life do not share the same rules that i do...and i want to respect them as they help out in her life a lot...
but at the same time. MYSPACE? land of weirdness.
then again, her dad, my current husband and myself all have accts that we actively use...
i mean...bad example?
anyways. any insight on how to nail this issue...much appreciated.

My son is almost 3 1/2 months old, and at the start of this week, he started doing something that worries me.
When he's in the carseat, he doesn't lay his head back. He likes to lift his head up out of the neckbrace pillow jiggie. I know the neck/head pillow is supposed to protect him if we are ever in an accident, but if he doesn't have it around his head, then it's basically useless, isn't it?
I don't know what I'm supposed to do, short of taping his head back in the carseat :/ I can't force his head back, and I've tried with just a receiving blanket around his head (which is what we did when we left the hospital because he was so little), the brace pillow that came with the carseat, and both together. He is strapped in properly with the buckle between his legs and the snap right by his armpits at nipple level.
Any help or suggestions will be appreciated!

I have a 6 week old baby. She LOVES to be held standing up, with her feet up against your legs or the bed or something firm. She likes to "walk" on surfaces, its one of the things she likes to do when awake (besides, eat, poop, cry/whine, and play with her toys). So I was at my boyfriend's mother's house yesterday and my boyfriend was play"walking" with her, holding her standing up on his lap and letting her stretch her legs and do the walking motion on his legs, and we were saying how this is one of the baby's favorite activities and his mom said to us that we shouldn't let her do that too much, that causes bow legs. Is that at all true?
I am not sure if she is just saying it because she tends to think she knows more about babies when she hasn't had a baby herself in 27 years. But she is always telling me stuff, like that my breast milk is the reason the baby hiccups a lot, breast milk makes babies gasser than formula, formula is no different than breast milk (she hates that I breast feed)... so I never know if what she is saying is true or just things she is saying to prove that she knows more about babies than I do... granted this is my first baby... but I have done a lot of reading, talked with a lot of parents of babies now... so its not like i am a complete idiot in terms of babies... but I just was wondering if you guys could clarify some of the things she has been saying to me... especially the breast milk stuff in terms of hiccups, and the leg thing! I read somewhere that it was just the body's organs being immature... but she claims my breast milk is doing it to her... I know I can make her gassy with what eat in terms of breastfeeding... but are breast fed babies really gasser?
Also, the boppy... my baby LOVES the boppy and naps in it... and his mother told me its dangerous to let babies nap in the boppy, they can die. I guess she read an article recently of a baby dying in one... so are they really that dangerous to let baby's nap in... my baby loves to nap in hers... especially since she HATES being flat on her back for some reason...
Also when can you start letting your baby sleep on their tummy? my baby is more comfy on her tummy (she doesn't sleep well at all on her back, she is up every 20 minutes when she sleeps on her back...) I know there is that fear of SIDS... but my aunt, who is a nurse, said that usually if a baby is going to have SIDS they have that to begin with and will get it whether they are on their back or tummy... its more that a baby is told to be on their back due to at an early age they can't lift their heads... so when can they sleep on their tummy at night? My baby has full mobility in terms of turning her head back and forth and has a VERY strong neck muscle... she holds her head up when you hold her all the time and always turns her head from side to side for tummy time... so I am just curious... like I said, this is a my first baby... so any clarification would be nice!
Thanks!!
*EDIT* when she naps in the boppy I am right there in the same room, but its where she is more comfy... she hates being flat on her back, so she won't sleep for naps unless she is lifted or on her tummy (she always passes out during tummy time) she just sleeps more soundly like that... flat on her back we only get 10-20 minutes of a nap and then just a crying fit... so in order for a not so cranky baby and mommy, I let her sleep in the boppy when I do stuff around the room... but then I was told I shouldn't even do that because she could die

I just spent WAY too much money on myself. But it was time for a new Bible. And I really use my Bibles. My old one is 12 years old and the binding completely ripped off. I rebound it with some materials I had around the house, but half the concordance got lost somewhere along the way. So its time.
I tried using the Reformation Bible we ordered as my new one, but I'm not diggin the ESV and hardcover Bibles just are not my thing, the poor binding is already showing wear and its kept in a case. I have always really liked KJV even though it can be a bit difficult to understand, then someone showed me the NASB and I fell in love. Not only is it easier to read, but its seems to match up really well the the KJV, which is what I have always used in the past.
So I researched and researched and researched. And I found this, and it was love at first sight:

NASB version, made by Cambridge, wide margined for note taking (wide margined, AHHHHH! a dream come true for someone, like myself, who likes to take notes in their Bible, I would really like to copy my old notes over lol thats going to be quite a project), bound in goatskin. Pages are not see through like so many Bibles these days are, they are study and can be written on without bleed through. Sewn binding (so this one should last! w00t!). Only issue was the price tag. Suggested retail of $229. :/ eep.
So I searched the web, and was able to find one for $95 shipped. I has a mark on it and one page is slightly messed up (the first page needs to be glued to the cover). But it works for me.
I'm SOOOOOO excited. I have been researching a new Bible for myself since I bought John his a couple months ago. And now I have one. :D
Look how nice it looks *drool*

and heres a write up on it if anyone is interested (or looking for a Bible)

pete got in late last night, i woke up around 3AM and couldn't go back to sleep so went down to watch part of a HP film with him. then T woke and, finding our bed empty, wandered downstairs to join us. of course, just like her mom, once T is up, she's up. in this case, with the holiday and the mandatory nap in the afternoon if she wants to see fireworks, we let her stay up for a bit and she eventually fell asleep on the futon. but the remarkable thing is that as we were all unable to sleep, someone happened to see minerva come to the door at 4A, begging to be let in.
she's lost a little weight, but wherever she's been for the last couple days, she seems happy and healthy. i'd really just about given up, though we were going to go post flyers over the weekend, mostly for T's sake. we have a friend who recovered a lost dog after 60 days, so she knew it wasn't hopeless. but a big white dog in the suburbs is a totally different thing from a stray tabby cat with no collar. so, this feels like a little miracle today and i'm happier for it.
